When Karthi made his unusual debut with 'Paruthiveeran' (2007), he was 30 years old. It ultimately turned into the biggest hit of the year. Both critics and fans were baffled by Karthi's portrayal, which lacked any indication of the inexperienced actor's fear.
Karthi, who completed his master's degree in the US, had little issue expressing the deeply embedded sense of humour of southern Tamil Nadu, and the movie's funny scenes contributed to its commercial success. After this commercial triumph, he was immediately flooded with offers. In spite of Selvaraghavan's 'Aayirathil Oruvan's box office failure, it eventually gained a cult following.

Karthi proved 'Paruthiveeran' had the talent and that his performance wasn't just the product of rookie luck. The actor finally had the chance to play an urban guy in Lingusaamy's third film, 'Paiyaa,' and he delivered a solid performance. When 'Siruthai' finally showed up, Karthi became well-liked.

True, his main selling point is his versatility. Karthi possesses the unique ability to play both the part of a suave pilot and a gangster, and the audience would not find it hard to relate to either character. There are probably many Tamil actors and actresses who are on par with or perhaps better than Karthi, but none compare to him. His ability to effortlessly transition between each part while still performing them with ease astounds the audience. We hope to see him in more roles as fantastic as these in the future. Once more, happy birthday to Karthi!
