Expressing shock over the death of 6 persons and injuries to several workers in a fire accident at Porus Laboratories Private Limited in Andhra’s Eluru district late on Wednesday night, Jana Sena President Pawan Kalyan has demanded an ex-gratia of Rs. 1 crore for victims.

Pawan said that the incident is utterly unfortunate and expressed solidarity with the families of the deceased in this tough time. He further urged the government to extend all possible help and assistance to the families of those injured or dead in the accident.

Andhra Pradesh Home Minister Taneti Vanitha visited the injured at Andhra Hospital and inquired regarding the details of the incident. Later, expressing grief over the incident and concern for the critically injured, she announced a compensation of Rs. 25 lakh on behalf of the factory to the families of the deceased.

However, terming the compensation as inadequate, Pawan Kalyan has demanded the government to increase the ex gratia from Rs. 25 lakh to Rs. 1 crore for the victims.

Coming to Pawan, the actor-turned-politician entered full-time politics in October 2017 after completing his film commitments. However, he made a comeback to films in 2021 by appearing in Vakeel Saab, directed by Venu Sriram.

As of now, he has started shooting for Hari Hara Veera Mallu with director Krish scheduled to be released in 2022. Mythri Movie Makers also announced a film with Kalyan under the direction of Harish Shankar.
