The actor-debut producer's collaboration with famous filmmaker Rosshan Andrews and writer combo Bobby-Sanjay is the cop drama. Salute marks the Malayalam debut of Bollywood actress Diana Penty, and is produced by Dulquer Salmaan's own banner Wayfarer Films.
The plot revolves around Aravind Karunakaran (Dulquer Salmaan) is a youthful and bright police officer who joins the force and reports to his older brother, Ajith Karunakaran, a senior cop (Manoj K Jayan). The investigation of a murder case, however, alters the dynamic between the brothers, resulting in Aravind's brief departure from the police department. He, on the other hand, continues his investigation on his own. Salute revolves around how this case affects Aravind's life and work, as well as where it leads him.
Director Rosshan Andrews and writer pair Bobby-Sanjay return with yet another police drama that is both unusual and realistic. Salute isn't your typical police drama with a lot of adrenaline-pumping action. Instead, it's a film about real-life events, like the police force's "powerlessness," which runs counter to common assumptions.
