Malayalam film Bangalore Days, which hit the marquee in 2014 and went on to achieve great commercial and critical success, has attained a cult status over the years. It starred Dulquer Salmaan, Nivin Pauly, and Fahadh Faasil in lead roles. Parvathy Thiruvothu, Isha Talwar, and Paris Laxmi also played pivotal roles in the film. Fans of Bangalore Days have always demanded a sequel to the much-loved film.
There have been constant talks about Bangalore Days 2, but nothing official has been said so far. During an earlier interview, when Fahadh Faasil was asked about the possibility of the sequel, the actor had said, “No clue. Anjali would be the right person to answer.”
Now, Dulquer Salmaan too has opened up about the possibility of Bangalore Days 2. “I don’t think I am keen on sequels. We didn’t know that Bangalore Days would be a cult classic when we made it,” he told a publication.
The actor went on to add, “You lose the essence of a film when you try to milk the stature and spin it into a franchise. But both Fahadh and I are open to working with each other. We have hectic individual careers going on and it’s tricky to plan dates together. That’s the sole reason why multi-starrers stop happening after a point of time. But in principle, both Fahadh and I are open to work on a new subject. In-fact, we have even discussed some stuff.”
Dulquer Salmaan is gearing up for the release of his next film Salute, which is set to stream on SonyLIV.
