Filmmaker Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth, who recently announced her separation from actor husband Dhanush, on Tuesday night said she has tested positive for COVID-19 and is under treatment at a hospital.
She took to Instagram and posted a picture which showed a cannula in her hand. “Tested positive even after all precautions. Got admitted. Please mask up, get vaccinated and be safe. Bring it on 2022! We'll see what more is that you have in store for me,” the 40-year-old wrote.
For those not in the know, Aishwaryaa is the elder daughter of megastar Rajinikanth. She made her directorial debut with the 2012 film 3 and later directed Vai Raja Vai (2015). She is currently working on her next directorial venture.
Last month, Aishwaryaa had announced that she and Dhanush were separating, ending their 18 year long marriage. The couple had tied the knot in 2004 and have two children. They announced their split on their respective social media handles and requested for privacy.
“18 years of togetherness as friends, couple, as parents and well-wishers to each other The journey has been of growth, understanding, adjusting and adapting… Today we stand at a place where our paths separate… Aishwaryaa and I have decided to part ways as a couple and take time to understand us as individuals for the better. Please do Respect our decision and give us the needed privacy to deal with this (sic),” read the statement.
