In a tweet confirming Vikram's attendance, Ajay announced this news. The filmmaker penned, "The Grand Audio Launch Of #Cobra on July 11 at #PhoenixMarketcityChennai with the PRESENCE OF #CHIYAANVIKRAM See you all there. An arrahman musical."
Following the news of his hospitalisation, a number of news sources reported that the I (2015) actor had a heart attack, a claim that was later refuted by the star's publicist-son, Dhruv Vikram. The same reason prevented him from attending the release of the teaser for his other movie, Ponniyin Selvan: I.
On August 11, the film Cobra, starring Srinidhi Shetty and former cricketer Irfan Pathan, will be released in theatres. The movie's score was composed by AR Rahman.
Meanwhile, Ponniyin Selvan: I, helmed by Mani Ratnam also stars Aishwarya Rai, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, R. Sarathkumar, and Sobhita Dhulipala in addition to Vikram. Additionally, he has a movie with Pa Ranjith scheduled.
