While fans eagerly await the horror-comedy's release, industry tracker LetsCinema announced the date change in a tweet on Friday. However, neither the film's cast nor its creators have officially commented on this delay. Some speculation on social media suggests that the change might be related to the strong opening of Shah Rukh Khan's ‘Jawan’ on September 7. Kangana Ranaut had recently expressed admiration for Shah Rukh Khan after ‘Jawan's’ release via an Instagram Stories post.
One potential reason behind the delay, as reported by 123 Telugu, could be the production team and studio needing additional time to enhance the film's visual effects.
‘Chandramukhi 2’ serves as the sequel to the Tamil horror-comedy ‘Chandramukhi’, which featured Rajinikanth and Jyothika in the lead roles. Produced by Lyca Productions and Subaskaran, the film is set to release in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada languages.
The recently unveiled trailer for ‘Chandramukhi 2’ teases a family moving into a mansion, with a warning to stay away from the south block, where Chandramukhi resides. Kangana Ranaut portrays a dancer in the king's court, known for her beauty and dancing prowess, while Raghava Lawrence takes on the role of King Vettaiyan Raja.
Additionally, the film released its second song, ‘Moruniye’, featuring Raghava Lawrence. The song, composed by Oscar winner MM Keeravani and sung by SP Charan and Harika Narayan, features lyrics by Vivek.
