Directed by Vignesh Shivan and produced by K. E. Gnanavel Raja, Tamil film Thaana Serndha Kootam has been waiting for its release for a long time. But now it seems the film will be before the audience very soon. Superstar Suriya , who plays the male lead in the movie, has confirmed that the long-pending film will arrive in cinemas on the auspicious occasion of Pongal (January 2018). The actor will be seen romancing the gorgeous Keerthy Suresh in the film.

Thaana Serndha Kootam has been financed by Gnanavel Raja's Studio Green and has music by Anirudh. Besides Thaana Serndha Kootam, Vemal starrer Mannar Vagayara is also in the fray for Pongal 2018 release.

The movie has been in the making for long. Though no one knows about the plot of the film, insiders say that it is supposedly a period film set in 1976. A couple of songs from the movie are out on the internet and are topping the charts. Soon after the release of Thaana Serndha Kootam, Suriya is expected to begin shooting for her next film with Selvaraghavan.
