Veteran actors Rajinikanth and Mammootty teamed up for the first time for the Tamil crime drama Thalapathy some 26 years ago. Fans of both superstars have been waiting to see them together since then. And if latest reports are to be believed, their wait can come to an end soon as both the great actors of Indian cinema are set to make their Marathi debut together with debutant director Deepak Bhave's upcoming movie titled Pasaayadan.

The film will be produced by producer-politician Balkrishna Surve. It is expected to roll by February next year. Talking about the director of the film, Deepak last co-wrote Marathi drama, Idak, which recently had its premiere at the 48th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) where it received widespread appreciation from all quarters.

Coming back to Rajinikanth and Mammootty , buzz also has it that both the actors will be seen together in two films in 2018. Mammootty is expected to make a special appearance in the Rajinikanth starrer Kaala Karikaalan.
