Everyone was surprised when it was announced that the release date of Julie 2 was pushed forward from 6th October to 10th November at the last moment. So when Pahlaj Nihalani was asked for the reason behind this decision, he replied, “We lost our original date of October 6 because of a court case. After that, we couldn’t come in the pre-Diwali week when the entire nation’s eyes are glued to Aamir Khan ’s Secret Superstar .” He also said, “Competing with Aamir in the box office race would have been a foolish exercise. No producer will dare to bring his film anywhere close to an Aamir film. This Diwali belongs to him.” Apparently, Pahlaj Nihalani is associated with the film as a presenter and distributor, so in that context, this statement is justified.

Until, when the fact was brought forward that, if Julie 2 will be competing with Anurag Kashyap ’s Mukkabaaz on the same date, he waited not for a single moment to reply, “We are not scared of Kashyap’s cinema. He has always tried to generate interest in his films by raking up censor issues. Now that I’m no more the CBFC chairperson let’s see how he generates interest in his films. Hamare Paas Julie Hai!” Ironic isn't it!

It would be interesting to know what Anurag Kashyap has to say about this comment, or will he let the film speak for itself! The film Julie 2 will be an erotic thriller featuring a cast of Raai Laxmi , Rati Agnihotri , Sahil Salathia, Aditya Srivastava , Ravi Kishen , Pankaj Tripathi , Yuri Suri and acclaimed director Nishikant Kamat . The film is co-produced by Vijay Nair and Santosh Dhoot! Julie 2 is set to release on 10th November 2017!
