Vishal Bhardwaj’s upcoming film is neither based on the life of Sapna Didi nor is it titled ‘Rani’!

Ever since news broke that superstar Deepika Padukone is collaborating with Vishal Bhardwaj, people started speculating what the movie is about and what role the actress might be playing in it. For the last few months, there have been rumours that Bhardwaj’s next film is on the life of Mumbai underworld lady don – Sapna Didi, who rule the city in the 80’s. Insiders also revealed that the title of the film is ‘Rani. But the filmmaker has rubbished all the rumours and said that he has yet not locked any name and that his film is not based on Sapna Didi.

Bhardwaj posted the news on Twitter and clarified that his upcoming film is neither based on the life of Sapna Didi nor is it titled, Rani. He captioned, “So amusing to find out that everyone except me knows the title of my upcoming film! This is absolutely false news, the movie is not titled 'Rani' and it is not based on Sapna Didi's life.”

While the director has ditched all the previous rumors about the film, a source close to the project has revealed that the film will go on floors in the first week of March and Deepika has started prepping up for the same.

Now it is clear that all the previous rumours were baseless, the only truth regarding Vishal's film is that it will star Deepika alongside Irrfan Khan. For further updates, we have to rely on the makers.
