The talented actress Vidya Balan is gearing up for her next, titled Begum Jaan . The movie is about a displaced woman in a brothel at the time of the Partition and the trauma faced by her. The movie has unveiled its release date and as per the report, Begum Jaan will hit the screens on January 6, 2017.

Begum Jaan is directed by the National Award winning filmmaker Srijit Mukherjee. This project will mark Mukherjee's directorial debut in Bollywood. This is a commercial cinema with strong women protagonist, said the Head of Play Entertainment, Mr. Milind Dabke.

Vidya Balan essays the madam of the brothel in this film that also features Naseeruddin Shah, Chunky Pandey, Pallavi Sharda, Ashish Vidyarthi, Rajat Kapoor, Ila Arun and Gauahar Khan. The lead lady Vidya Balan wishes to play this role convincingly, so she has been taking voice training lessons as well as has learnt horse-riding for this film. No doubt, with her three different roles, she will leave an unforgettable mark on the viewers' mind with her superlative acting, as usual!
