    Vaani Kapoor to be the female lead in ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’!

    If the actress does the film opposite Shahid Kapoor, it will be the first time when she will work outside Yash Raj Films banner.

    Filmmaker Shree Narayan Singh ’s upcoming film, Batti Gul Meter Chalu , is only a couple of months away from mounting floors, but the makers are yet to finalize the leading lady of the movie. There were strong rumours that Anushka Sharma , Shraddha Kapoor , and Katrina Kaif were being considered for the female part in the social drama movie, but no official confirmation was made ever. However, latest reports suggest that Shuddh Desi Romance fame Vaani Kapoor has bagged the role.

    According to a report published on one of the leading entertainment portals, the makers of Batti Gul Meter Chalu have zeroed in on Vaani Kapoor . She will be paired opposite Shahid Kapoor , who plays the male lead in the movie.

    Vaani, who debuted in movies with Yash Raj Films ’ Shuddh Desi Romance in 2013, was last seen in Aditya Chopra ’s Befikre opposite Ranveer Singh . She will be next seen in an upcoming YRF film starring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff .

    If the news of her signing Batti Gul Meter Chalu is true, it will be the first time when Vaani Kapoor will work outside Yash Raj Films.
