Balaji Motion Pictures Ltd and Phantom Productions upcoming film Udta Punjab faced major trouble owing to its abusive content and drug abuse portrayal. Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC) ordered the makers of the film to remove the word Punjab from its title and its reference from the flick.
Going by the report, Udta Punjab has been cleared with 13 cuts under A category. The report further revealed that Pahlaj Nihlani said "We have today cleared Udta Punjab under A (restricted for adult audience) category after 13 cuts," He further added that "The CBFCs job is now over. It is now up to the producer to go to the court or tribunal. We will implement the order,"
Udta Punjab was watched by nine members of the CBFC and "unanimously" cleared the film post proposing 13 cuts. The movie revolves around the drug abuse issue among the youth in Punjab. Udta Punjab is likely to hit the screens on its slated release date June 17, as per the buzz.
