After a hiatus of 5 long years, director Anil Sharma is back in action. Sharma, who last helmed Sunny Deol starrer Singh Saab The Great , will now be directing his son, Utkarsh Sharma , in his debut movie, Genius . Though the film is in the making for a long time now, daddy Anil has finally introduced the first look poster of Utkarsh from the film. While the poster has a tagline, “Dil Ki Ladaai Dimaag Se”, Utkarsh looks completely cool, calm and composed. The film will also mark the debut of the actress, Ishita Chauhan , who will be seen playing the female lead.

Giving out details about the film, the filmmaker said in a statement, “Genius is different from all that I've made before. It's a story of a guy with high IQ. Dil ki Ladaai, Dimaag se is how I'd sum up the story for now. I'm looking at casting a fresh face opposite him in this movie.”

Talking about his son Utkarsh, Anil Sharma added, “I noticed his potential when I had screen-tested him for 'Gadar' and was impressed with the way he enacted the scene. He was good in studies and later, he enrolled in an institute in the US to study filmmaking. He also trained at The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute for about a year. His strength lies in his sincerity and originality with which he thinks of enacting his scenes.”

Apart from these two newcomers, the film has some extremely star cast. The supporting cast includes Mithun Chakraborty , Ayesha Jhulka and people’s favourite, Nawazuddin Siddiqui .

Anil Sharma ’s Genius is scheduled to hit the screens on 24th August 2018.
