Tabu , who was supposed to act in 'Gulab Gang', which is an upcoming film of Anubhav Sinha , has now refused to act in it. Earlier she was supposed to play a politician. Rumors are rife that when she came to know that the main role had gone to Madhuri Dixit , she refused to be the part of this movie.

According to sources, " Tabu refused the film because she wanted to play Madhuri's role of a female vigilante who heads a group of women who help other women solve their problems."

Tabu gave her statement clarifying the status, "I was approached for the protagonist's role many years ago. Because of lack of funds, the film never went on the floors. They may have tried to get in touch with me this time, but we haven't had a fresh meeting. Reports of me wanting Madhuri's role are baseless."

In this film, a gang of women fight against social injustice. Though it is Anubhav Sinha 's film, it is being directed by Soumik Sen , who was a journalist earlier.
