Taapsee Pannu commences shooting for Anurag Kashyap’s Manmarziyan!

Ace filmmaker, Anurag Kashyap, is known for his dark and edgy movies but for the first time, he is coming up with an out and out romantic film, Manmarziyan. The movie stars Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal and Abhishek Bachchan in lead roles. While Kashyap and Vicky have worked in the past, Manmarziyan is the first-ever collaboration between the filmmaker and the other two actors. The project was on hold for months but today it finally went on the floors. Today, before beginning the shoot, Taapsee visited the Golden Temple in Amritsar to seek blessings and shared the news on her Instagram account, writing, "Here’s to a beautiful beginning #Manmarziyan”. Produced by Aanand L Rai, Manmarziyan is a love story set in Punjab.

Earlier, the film had Bhumi Pednekar, Ayushmann Khurrana, and Vicky Kaushal. They had started shooting it as well under the direction of Sameer Sharma in 2016 but producer Aanand L Rai, reportedly, wasn't happy with the outcome. So, he decided to shelve the film at that time. But since the story was so close to his heart, he couldn’t give up on it. So, he decided to make the film again with a new team and it landed in Kashyap’s pocket.

Early this year, Kashyap made yet another love story, Mukkabaaz, but it was equally action-packed. He has given us gems in the past and now when he is making a romantic drama, we wish him and the team all the best.
