The trend of making movies adapting from the books is nothing new in B-Town. And soon, there will be arriving one more such adaptation. This time a popular Indian series of detective will be transforming into a movie. The detective series of Byomkesh Bakshi by Sharadindu Bandopadhyay would be appearing with its movie form.

B-Town director Dibakar Banerjee is planning to rope in the budding actor Sushant Singh Rajput in the movie titled 'Detective Byomkesh Bakshi'. The flick will be co-produced by Yash Raj Films. Set at the backdrop of early 40's, the story spins around the early life of the character named Byomkesh Bakshi. The film highlights his college life and how he turned a detective. The movie also describes Byomkesh being pitted against the devil on the verge of demolishing world.

Dibakar Banerjee is planning to make 'Detective Byomkesh Bakshi' in a franchise, as of now. The movie is likely to start filming in January next year and will be tentatively releasing by the end of 2014.
