    Sonam Kapoor to confer Neerja Bhanot award to Subhashini Vasanth

    Sonam Kapoor will present the Neerja Bhanot award to Subhashini Vasanth, the founder trustee of Vasantharatna Foundation.

    The Neerja Bhanot award will be conferred by the Neerja Bhanot Pan Am Trust on Subhashini Vasanth of Bengaluru in Chandigarh today. Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor , the lead actress of upcoming film ' Neerja ' will be presenting this award to Subhashini Vasanth, reportedly.

    A woman who displays grit and determination in adversity gets this award and a specially constituted jury selects the awardee. Vasantharatna Foundation is begun in the memory of late Colonel Vasanth V, who was posthumously awarded the Ashok Chakra in 2008. His wife Subhashini Vasanth is the founder trustee of this foundation. Colonel Vasanth V breathed his last while fighting terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir.
