    Sonam Kapoor starrer 'Neerja' to hit the screens on February 19

    Sonam Kapoor starrer 'Neerja' will release on February 19.

    Very soon, a biopic based on the life of 23-year old Neera Bhanot, who lost her life while saving the lives of hijacked passengers on PanAm flight in Karachi in 1986, will be arriving. Sonam Kapoor will play Neerja Bhanot in this film. ' Neerja ' will reportedly hit the screens on February 19.

    The courageous Neerja posthumously received The Ashok Chakra, the highest civilian award for bravery. Neerja became the youngest recipient of this award. Pakistan also presented the esteemed Tamgha-e-Insaaniyat award to Neerja Bhanot for her heroism. Fox Star Studios, CEO, Vijay Singh stated "Neerja is one of the unsung heroes of India whose story should be an inspiration for everyone... We will be releasing ' Neerja ' on Feb 19 for the people the world over to know and celebrate the story of a 23-year-old girl who found courage and self-sacrifice in an extraordinary moment in her life,"

    Helmed by ad film director Ram Madhwani , the film is produced by Fox Star Studios and Bling Unplugged. The movie also features Shabana Azmi in the role of Neerja's mother.
