After starting his career with a bang, Sidharth Malhotra is now going through a bad phase. However, even after the dismal performance of his last few films at the box office, he has some exciting projects on his plate. Last appeared in Neeraj Pandey ’s Aiyaary , the actor will soon start Kargil: Sher Shah, a biopic based on the late Kargil war hero Captain Vikram Batra. And now, he is reported to star in Ekta Kapoor ’s next. Sidharth has worked with Ekta in 2014’s super hit film, Ek Villain , and if things go well, it will be his second collaboration with the producer.

Talking about the project, a source said to a tabloid, "It’s a small town love story with edgy characters. As soon as Ekta heard it she immediately reached out to Sidharth. She believes it’s a great role and a perfect film for them to come together. The film is expected to roll in a couple of months. The makers will begin the recce soon and zero in on a leading lady."

The source further said, "The duo hopes to recreate the magic with their reunion."
