Abhishek Chaubey's forthcoming film Udta Punjab deals with the topic of drug abuse in Punjab. The movie features Shahid Kapoor as rockstar, Alia Bhatt as Bihari migrant who arrives in Punjab with a dream of becoming a Hockey player. Kareena Kapoor Khan will go de-glam in this flick for her role of a doctor. Diljit Dosanjh essays a cop in the film.

Here comes an interesting news update about the stars of the film. Shahid, Alia and Kareena decided to charge half of their original fees when they heard the script of the film. They were so much delighted with the plot of the flick that slashed their fees by half in order to accommodate the project of the director Abhishek Chaubey.

A source said "They knew that it wasn't a run of the mill Bollywood film. It has a very interesting storyline and talks about substance abuse in Punjab," All the three stars instantly gave a nod to feature in this flick.

Udta Punjab releases on June 17.
