'Satyagraha' bags whopping Rs. 39.12 crore on first weekend

UTV Motion Pictures produced, socio-political thriller \'Satyagraha\' is flying with bright colors at the box-office with its whopping weekend collection of Rs. 39.12 crore within 3 days of its release. It is estimated that the movie will head high in front of the coming two big releases, \'Shuddh Desi Romance\' and \'Zanjeer\'.

As reported by UTV, \'Satyagraha\' witnessed the ascending bar, that is on the release day it grossed Rs. 11.21 crore, making it Prakash Jha\'s biggest ever opening day collection when compared to his prior films. On Saturday, it made a fair business of Rs. 13.08 crore and on Sunday, its collection raised to 14.83 crore. On Friday, the occupancy in theaters was 70%, Saturday 88% and Sunday 84%, as stated by Puneet Sahay of Spice Cinemas.

\'Satyagraha\' has not only unfolded the political conspiracies, but also has emotional content associated with it. Therefore, it will continue to delight the audiences in spite of the next week releases. But also there is a chance that with the new movies releasing every Friday, an inspirational movie like \'Satyagraha\' might face a dilemma.
