Otherwise seen quirky Saif Ali Khan has been roped in by director Sujoy Ghosh to play a thriller role in his next film based on Japanese novel titled 'The Devotion Suspect X'.

Being the biggest blockbuster of Japan, Ekta Kapoor acquired the rights of this novel to make a film under her banner Balaji Motion Pictures Ltd . Also, Hollywood filmmakers are craving to get the scripted characters in action.

The story revolves around a single mother, who accidently kills her abusive ex-husband to seek peace. Her neighbor comes to her rescue, to hide the body and cover-up the crime using his swift mathematician mind. However, the investigation is handed over to a strong-headed detective, who takes up the challenge to uncover the mystery. A twist occurs when the detective brings equally intelligent doctor to solve the case, who was once a batch mate of this mathematician.

So far, Saif has been officially signed for this suspense-thriller and the further casting is in the process.
