The Hollywood director John Madden's upcoming film 'The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel 2' has started its shooting in Udaipur, India, reportedly. The cast and crew of the film will be shooting in Udaipur and Jaipur in Rajasthan.

The starcast of the film includes British actors like Judi Dench, Maggie Smith, Tom Wilkinson and Indian actors Lillete Dubey , Tina Desai and Dev Patel . Reportedly, Richard Gere is the new addition to the cast of this flick. This is the first time Hollywood actor Richard Gere is in India for shooting of his film. Prior to this, Gere visited India for his Buddhist activities and also as the brand ambassador of AIDS campaigns. Lillete Dubey will be playing the love interest of Richard Gere in this flick. Before coming to India, Gere watched some of the films in which Dubey acted in.

A close source to the team revealed that "Richard is coming here on Thursday. He is very excited about shooting in India and so are we. He has specially asked to be accommodated in a hotel close to the shooting which need not be super-luxurious. He is happy roughing it out with the unit. He also wants to taste all the Rajasthani cuisine including some that other aging British actors have been afraid to try for fear of indigestion,"
