    Ranbir Sports A Gangster Avatar In 'Bombay Velvet'!

    Ranbir Kapoor features in a Gangster like avatar in the upcoming movie 'Bombay Velvet'.

    The movie ' Bombay Velvet ' is a special one for the makers as well as the actors. It is Karan Johar 's debut as an actor in a full-fledged role. The film is set in the 1960s where Ranbir Kapoor plays the role of a rugged boxer named Johnny Balraj and stars opposite to Anushka Sharma who plays the role of a jazz club singer named Rosie Naronha.

    For the first time in Ranbir's career, he is playing a gangster like character. All the while he has played happy go lucky roles. In a recent interaction with the media, Ranbir stated that he loves challenging roles and was excited by this script which Anurag gave him. Kashyap is also very happy with RK as he pulled off the role with ease.

    Directed and co-produced by Anurag Kashyap , ' Bombay Velvet ' is based on Gyan Prakash's book 'Mumbai Fables' which discloses the love tale of a street fighter and an aspiring jazz singer. The neo-noir drama releases tomorrow i.e. on May 15, 2015.
