Bollywood heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor is gearing up for the release of his very much-talked about Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. The actor has donned a hat of a producer now. Ranbir Kapoor will be co-producing Anurag Basu 's forthcoming sequel of 2007 release Life in a Metro . Ranbir and Anurag worked for the first time in the movie Barfi! The actor also stars in Basu's upcoming film Jagga Jasoos.

Confirming this piece of news update, the filmmaker Basu said "Ranbir is teaming up with me as a producer. Though I may want him to play a pivotal role in the film, I don't know whether he would be interested. He will always have the first right of refusal."

Kangana Ranaut, who featured in the original, will not be a part of this sequel. Irrfan Khan will retain his role from the original. The director Basu is planning to start shooting for this venture in December.
