It has now become a trend in Bollywood to make films on real-life stories or making biopics. From sportspersons to politicians to actors now, we have been witnessing the biopics very frequently since last 4-5 years. One such effort is also being made by director Anurag Basu as he wants to make a biopic on late legendary singer Kishore Kumar . Long back, it was confirmed that Ranbir Kapoor will be playing the titular role in the biopic, which has been longing to be made since 5 years. This has reportedly been Anurag Basu and Ranbir Kapoor 's dream project which has been facing some or the other glitch since its inception.

Ranbir, who is busy with his Sanjay Dutt ’s untitled biopic by Rajkumar Hirani , has no spare time. Soon after Dutt’s biopic, the actor will gear up for Ayan Mukherji ’s ‘ Brahmastra ’. However, Anurag Basu confirmed with a leading tabloid that the dates are no more an issue. "Ranbir and I are certainly doing Kishore. We'd have gone into it right after 'Barfi'. But then Ranbir got committed to 'Bombay Velvet'. So I decided to make ' Jagga Jasoos ' first. Kishore can't be made in breaks and spurts. It has to be done in one long stretch,” he said.

Now when the dates issue has been resolved, another huge impediment in the project is creating an obstacle. The untitled Kishore Kumar biopic is waiting for an approval not only from Kishore Da's elder son singer Amit Kumar , but also the younger son Sumeet Kumar .

Kishore Da’s family wants the makers should take approval from them for every single scene and song, which is creating some serious obstacles for creators as well as the actor to commence the film.
