After postponing several times, it is believed that the makers of Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar starrer ‘ 2.0 ’, want their film to hit the screens on Tamil New Year. The makers first decided to release the film on Republic Day, but as Akshay’s ‘ Padman ’ is already scheduled to release on the same day, the makers then pushed their dates again. Now if the sources are to be believed, the film will hit the screens in mid-April, on the occasion of Puthandu, i.e. Tamil New Year. A source from the South Film industry said, “The makers seem to have understood the potential of releasing the film in April as the family audience will be looking out opportunities to watch good movies in theatres. So, it will be a good decision to release ‘ 2.0 ’ in April. Let's not forget the film is rich in VFXs and kids will love to watch such film. ‘Baahubali’ makers clearly understood this and released the second part in April.”

The buzz and anticipation ‘ 2.0 ’ has created is indescribable. We have seen what Southern cinema has got and what they can do. The movie is already made on the huge budget of Rs. 450 crores, so we feel, what better than Tamil New Year. 2018 has got a number of big releases, but most of the films are scheduled to release in the second half. So ‘ 2.0 ’ will surely get much time to make sufficient business. Apart from Rajini and Akshay, the film also stars Amy Jackson and it is helmed by Shankar .
