In the season of pouring remakes, one more remake of a classic is on the cards. It is remake for 1980's super hit movie ' Khubsoorat ' by Hrishikesh Mukherjee . Rhea Kapoor , the sister of Sonam Kapoor will be producing this film and Sonam Kapoor will essay the lead, reportedly. The original film ' Khubsoorat ' starred Rakesh Roshan and Rekha was a pure family drama.

Even though the male lead for the film is yet not finalized, it is being said that the Bengali actor Prosenjit Chatterjee would be reprising the role played by Ashok Kumar in the predecessor. Prosenjit will portray Sonam's father-in-law in this remake version. ' Shanghai ' was the movie, in which Prosenjit left an impression.

Prosenjit Chatterjee verified the news explaining that he has been offered the role and he loved the script a lot. He would be enacting Ashok Kumar 's role, however in the contemporary context, he added. Prosenjit will be playing a young father if everything falls in place, as per the reports.

Shashank Ghosh would be directing the remake of ' Khoobsurat ' and it is likely to start rolling by the year end.
