Earlier, there were reports that desi girl Priyanka Chopra had given her nod to play eminent poet and author Amrita Pritam in Sanjay Leela Bhansali ’s forthcoming film Gustakhiyan, but if latest reports are anything to go by, the actress is unlikely to do the film because of her chock-a-block schedule. PC, who has made quite a name for herself in the West after the resounding success of her American TV show Quantico and Hollywood debut Baywatch, opposite Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron, has a long list of Hollywood commitments to accomplish before she greenlights any Hindi project. Since she reportedly has signed two Hollywood films and also the third installment of her hit TV series Quantico, she has not time for Sanjay Leela Bhansali .

Gustakhiyan, which will showcase the real-life romance between Amrita Pritam and Sahir Ludhianvi, will see the very talented Irrfan Khan in the role of Sahir Ludhianvi. Before Khan came on board, Shah Rukh Khan’s name was being thrown in the fray for the role of the Urdu literary giant. However, the makers finally zeroed in on Irrfan Khan . We hope the makers soon find their leading lady and take the film on floors.

Gustakhiyan has been scheduled for a 2018 release.
