' Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na ' was his Bollywood debut and he impressed everyone in this film. The star-kid Prateik Babbar was then loved by one and all. However, his next film ' Issaq ' could not create the same magic and failed to delight the viewers. After this film, Prateik seems to be staying away from the limelight.

Now, Prateik Babbar is all set to debut in Bengali cinema. Prateik will be reportedly featuring in the Bengali film titled 'Arani Takhan'. This flick is the directorial debut of Sourav Chakraborty, who earlier assisted the ace filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker in the film ' Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey '. Prateik's Bengali debut film is said to be a love tale that speak the story of the decade between two prime incidents in the Indian history. The first event being the Babri Masjid demolition in the year 1992 and the Gujarat riots in 2002. The makers of this Bengali flick are also planning to release the film internationally with the title 'Tryst With Destiny'.

Prateik will be paired opposite Paoli Dam in this Bengali venture and Indraneil Sengupta will be seen essaying a crucial role in this.
