Pradeep Sarkar soon to direct a movie starring Kajol!

Pradeep Sarkar is widely recognized for his directorial debut ‘Parineeta’. Starring Vidya Balan, Saif Ali Khan and Sanjay Dutt in pivotal roles, the runaway success of the film helped Sarkar gain his footing in the Hindi film industry. The movie garnered him a National Award and a Filmfare award for best director. Sarkar, whose movies are best known for showcasing the strong character of the female leads, is keen to work with talented actress Kajol. He has signed Kajol for his upcoming untitled directorial which will be an adaptation of the Gujarati play by Anand Gandhi, director of 'Ship of Theseus'.

Sarkar reportedly said, "I was offered the script around four months ago. It took me a while to understand the Gujarati tone but eventually, I fell in love with this extremely emotional story which boasts of some really strong characters and there's a chance of people getting really close to them."

When Sarkar was asked about his feeling to be working with Kajol, he replied, "She's an awesome actress who picks up a role and owns it. She has her own style, charm and a particular way of talking that enhances the character."

Sarkar’s last movie ‘Mardaani’ (2014) did average business at the box office. We hope and expect the upcoming project should prove successful for both the director and the actress. Reportedly, the film will be co-produced by Ajay Devgn and is supposed to go on the floors in January next year.
