Actress Prachi Desai played an important role in the original film ' Rock On ' as Farhan Akhtar 's wife Sakshi and now is all set to essay a significant role in its sequel ' Rock On!! 2 '. There were various rumours regarding Prachi's role and it was earlier reported that the actress will have a small role in the film. As per the earlier reports, Prachi's character would die in the story and Farhan will eventually go for other actress and hence Prachi was believed to have a cameo than a full fledged role.

However, all these rumours were pushed aside by Producer Ritesh Sidhwani as he confirmed Prachi's presence in the film on Twitter. He wrote: "#RockOn2 Prachi Desai plays an important part & it's not a special appearance". The upcoming film has been a lot in news due to its casting. Actresses Alia Bhatt and Shraddha Kapoor were speculated to be the part of the film. Apparently designer Pernia Qureshi has also auditioned for a role in the movie.
