Working with reputed director S.S. Rajamouli, actor Prabhas gave praiseworthy performances in two of the biggest movies of Indian cinema i.e. ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’ and ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’. After the earth-shattering success of the film series in the Hindi belt, Dharma Productions’ head honcho Karan Johar showed his keen interest in launching Prabhas in Bollywood. But the latest we hear that the filmmaker has dropped the idea as, reportedly, Prabhas demanded a hefty fee to star in the film. Prabhas charged a whopping amount of Rs.25 crores for the ‘Baahubali’ franchise.
Prabhas & Karan JoharA source quoted the daily saying, "Prabhas had devoted five years of his life to the two 'Baahubali' films and it was only fair that he would want to cash in on his new success… But the price he asked for was staggering. While it was okay for him to ask and get his desired price — reportedly in the vicinity of Rs 20 crores — in Telugu cinema, it was unrealistic for Prabhas to expect that kind of remuneration in Bollywood. No South Indian actor, not even Rajinikanth, has that kind of commercial clout in Hindi cinema. Prabhas has clearly out-priced himself from Bollywood.”
The Source further added, "After 'Baahubali' and its sequel, Karan was keen to launch Prabhas in Hindi cinema. But on seeing the price he was asking, Karan has decided to abandon the idea of launching him." Karan recently tweeted a post on his Twitter handle, which many could not understand initially, but later it was thought to be a sly jibe on Prabhas by Karan. His tweet read, "Dear Ambition...if you have to achieve your full potential stay away from your arch nemesis....Comparison!"
Prabhas, who has become the well-known face across Indian households, is currently busy shooting for his upcoming film ‘Saaho’ which has a huge star cast. The release date of the film is not fixed yet, but we wish him for his next project.
