Omung Kumar's forthcoming film Sarbjit narrates the story of Indian farmer Sarabjit Singh who was convicted of terrorism and spying in Pakistan. He lost his life during an attack from his jail inmate in Pakistan. This story is told from the perspective of Sarabjit's sister Dalbir Kaur.

The latest news update revealed that Pakistan was recreated in Mumbai for shooting of the film Sarbjit. The makers created bylanes of Pakistan, whereas some portion of the movie was shot in Bohri Mohallah in Mumbai apart from Punjab. The house of protagonist was recreated in Aarey Colony in Mumbai. The reason for not shooting the flick in Tarn Taran (Sarabjit's hometown) is the filmmaker felt that the city has become too modernised to shoot this film there. Punjab of 90s was required to show in the film and the set had to be changed accordingly so that it will mirror the movie's grim vibe.

Minute attention to every detail was paid by the director to make this biography having a realistic touch. Sarbjit releases on May 20.
