On August 12, Bollywood witnessed a box-office clash between two big films Rustom and Mohenjo Daro . Rustom starring Akshay Kumar, Esha Gupta and Illeana D’cruz is inspired by real life incidences and falls into the mystery thriller genre while Mohenjo Daro starring Hrithik Roshan and Pooja Hegde is a larger than life period drama.

Both the films have been well promoted and the clash generated a curiosity amongst the cinema lovers to learn who garners more numbers. Rustom received rave reviews from the critics and the audience and it opened with Rs. Rs. 14.85 crores at the domestic box-office. Hrithik’s Mohenjo Daro received mixed response and it disappointed the critics. This Ashutosh Gowariker’s directorial managed to make Rs. Rs. 8.87 crores at the domestic front.

This clearly indicates that Tinu Suresh Desai’s Rustom is sailing in the safe boat while Mohenjo Daro needs to show improvement in numbers so as to garner a decent total. First weekend collections will certainly decide where these two movies are heading to.
