    Nawazuddin Siddiqui to star in Nandita Das's forthcoming Indo-French co-production Manto, as per the report.

    Nawazuddin Siddiqui is harvesting rave reviews for his stellar performance as the dangerous serial killer in the film Raman Raghav 2.0 during its screening at the 69th Cannes Film Festival recently. Going by the news update, Nawazuddin Siddiqui will star in Nandita Das 's upcoming Indo-French co-production Manto.

    The actor had already done the costume tests for the role of noted writer who had a short life but a brilliant career as he left an indelible imprint of on Urdu literature. The movie will be produced by Vivek Kajaria under the banner Holy Basil Productions. The shooting for this flick is likely to take place in Mumbai and Lahore by the end of this year. It requires the setting of Mumbai and Lahore of 1950s, as the movie covers the period of seven years, between 1946 and 1952.
