National Award-winning actress Neena Gupta who has been a part of multiple films and also TV serials have been out of the lime light for quite a while. Some of her well-known work includes Madhuri Dixit’s Khalnayak, she also grooved on the popular track ‘Choli Ke Piche’ and her film Bazaar Sitaram got her several awards! In television, her work in long run serials like Ladies Special and Rishtey among many others were highly appreciated. The veteran actress who is active on Instagram recently updated a post stating that she is looking for work! In a media interaction, the actress admitted that she is not ashamed to ask for work and is looking forward to work again.

Neena Gupta said, “I am feeling very proud of myself (after updating the Instagram post).I feel like I am launching myself again at this age. So what? I am not dead. I am fit, I look good and I can still act, so why not? I am not ashamed.”

The actress also spoke about her daughter who reposted her picture. She quipped, “I thought she’ll scold me but I was moved to tears reading her post. She understands.” Discussing the scenario, the actress stated, “Everybody thinks that after my marriage in 2008, I have moved to Delhi and I don’t work anymore. So, I get put off and then I see so many roles being offered to other actors of my age.”

“If you do one big commercial film and it is a hit, everyone casts you for that particular kind of role. My problem is that I can do a variety of roles, so when filmmakers are casting, they don’t think of me because I am not slotted, states the 62-year-old actor.

Talking about PR promotions, Neena states that, “I am genetically not fit for that. I find it difficult to ask for work even if I know somebody for ages. I expect them to call me, but it’s not a correct attitude in this profession. So, I am making an effort now.”
