As per the report, Manoj Bajpai will be honoured with the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award of this year for his performance in the movie Aligarh .

The critically-acclaimed film Aligarh is a heart touching tale of a 64 year old professor Dr. Srinivas Ramchandra Siras. This homosexual professor was detained from his job owing to his sexual orientation. The movie has won awards at various national and international film festivals.

Talking about this, Manoj Bajpai stated "I am honoured that I am going to get the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. It is a wonderful feeling. I would like to dedicate this award to Siras for his immense struggle in his journey to prove the world about the true meaning of love.
