On Monday, the Chief Minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar has declared the forthcoming film 'Manjhi The Mountain Man' as tax-free in Bihar, reportedly. 'Manjhi The Mountain Man' revolves around the life of a poor labourer Dashrath Manjhi, who hails from Gehlaur village in Gaya district. He was popularly known as the Mountain Man, as he creates a road through the mountain with the help of only hammer and chisel. He made this road in memory of his wife, who died due to not getting medical treatment as travelling to the nearest hospital took a lot of time owing to the mountain.
In this film directed by Ketan Mehta, Manjhi's role will be portrayed by Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Radhika Apte essays Manjhi's wife. The movie releases on August 21.
