    Madhur Bhandarkar to be honoured by Raj Kapoor Smriti Award

    Maharashtra government will honour Madhur Bhandarkar by Raj Kapoor Smriti Award for his flawless contribution to Hindi Cinema.

    Critically as well as commercially acclaimed filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar will be honoured by Raj Kapoor Smriti Award from the Maharashtra government for his contribution in Hindi Cinema on August 12.

    Conferring this news, Bhandarkar took a social networking site to express his gratitude with the following tweet, "Thank you to each one of you for the congratulatory messages you sent. I accept this Maharashtra State honour bestowed on me, in all humility."

    So far Madhur Bhandarkar holds the record of winning four National awards for his films ' Chandni Bar ', ' Page 3 ', ' Fashion ' and ' Traffic Signal '. Currently he is working on his next film 'Calendar Girls' based on the models that feature on fashion calendars.
