Bhumi Pednekar, who was last seen in Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, is coming up with her next film, titled Son Chiriya. The team recently wrapped up the movie in Chambal and now it will go into the post-production stage. But before that, Pednekar has unveiled her first look from the film. The actress plays a female dacoit in the Chambal ravines in the ’70s.
In her first look, Bhumi is seen in simple saris and long-sleeved blouses along with a gun. She has kept her makeup minimal to make her character look real.
Bhumi Pednekar in a still from Son Chiriya“While the film’s team shot in Chambal for the last three months in sweltering heat — the temperatures would sometimes shoot up to over 40 degrees in the jungles — the actress prepped for her part by learning the Bundelkhandi dialect and interacting with the local women. The film wrapped up last week. Bhumi plays a young widow,” a source says.
Besides Bhumi Pednekar, Son Chiriya also stars Sushant Singh Rajput. Talented actors Manoj Bajpayee, Ashutosh Rana and Ranvir Shorey play supporting parts. The film has been directed by Abhishek Chaubey and might release in the second half of the year.
