Kunal Kapoor signs Akshay Kumar starrer Gold

Kunal Kapoor has got his hands on an exciting project – Gold. The film based on India’s first triumph in Olympics as an independent nation.

Sources close to the film revealed that Kunal has been roped for a pivotal role in the film. For which, he has been going through strenuous training of 5-6 months before the film goes on the floor by July or August this year. He will be seen as a professional hockey player in Gold.

Directed by Reema Katgi, Gold stars Akshay Kumar in the lead role of Olympian Balbir Singh, who won three consecutive gold medals for India in 1948, 1952 and 1956 in Olympics. Further, actress Swara Bhaskar has been approached to play his love interest in the film.
