So as per the latest updates, earlier actress Taapsee Pannu was in consideration to be cast in the remake of Spanish film Contratiempo (The Invisible Guest) also featuring John Abraham . But the final race winner is Kriti Sanon for this crime thriller. Though news circuit was lit with the news of Taapsee Pannu being finalized as leading lady in the film!

The basic plotline of The Invisible Guest was a story of a young businessman who gets accused of the murder of his beautiful lover, with added element of court room-drama that would feature the arrival of a new witness and a subsequent shocking twist in the tale, which makes it so intriguing to see, when it will be released!

As per the inside news, the creative and casting team considered Kriti Sanon as per her performance in recently released Bareilly Ki Barfi and eventually, they decided to sign Kriti for the role of murdered mistress. Though John Abraham ’s character would be placed in the center point, Kriti Sanon will be playing a crucial role and she’ll be mostly having scenes in the flashbacks! The film will be directed by Lakshya, who will be making his directorial debut with this film. It would be interesting to see how Kriti Sanon will be portraying such gray shaded character in the film!
