Mumbai Academy of Moving Image (MAMI) has organized the 15th Mumbai Film Festival and it is supported by the Department of Culture, Government of Maharashtra. The extravaganza will take place from 17th October, 2013 to 24th October, 2013. This year, the film festival will touch greater heights with several major announcements to be done during the event. These happenings will make the show one of the finest events of Asia and an elite one.

The latest news update is that the versatile Indian actor, Kamal Haasan will be felicitated with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Kamal Haasan has completed 50 years in the film industry, as an actor, producer, choreographer, writer, director, singer and lyricist. The actor is having more than 190 movies to his account including Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada. Some of his award-winning and critically-acclaimed films are 'Nayagan' (1987), 'Moondram Pirai' (1982), ' Appu Raja ' (1989), ' Pushpak ' (1987), ' Hey Ram ' (2000) and to name a few. The maestro had been presented three National Film Awards including Kalaimamani Award and Padma Shri Award.

The eminent director Shyam Benegal revealed his thoughts on the occasion of bestowing the esteemed award to Mr. Haasan. Benegal mentioned that Kamal Haasan is a legend in every sense of the term. He is a successful actor, director, writer, singer and lyricist. We are feeling very honoured to present the Lifetime Achievement Award to Shri Kamal Haasan , said Benegal.

The 15th Mumbai Film Festival will be screening over 200 movies from 65 nations and will be inviting all the movie lovers to relish the real spirit of cinema. The event will be held at Liberty Cinema, Metro Cinema and Cinemax at Andheri West will be the prime venue of it.
