Ever since her debut, Kalki Koechlin has done more of offbeat movies and lessen the dramatic ones. In her 9 years long career, she has been through a roller coaster ride, playing different roles, where she has impressed all with her spectacular performances. Now she is all set to collaborate with Zoya Akhtar for her upcoming film, ‘ Gully Boy ’. In the film, she will be seen rapping. Yes, that’s right! According to the news in a leading tabloid, Kalki will play a rapper alongside Ranveer and Alia Bhatt . The last film where Kalki worked with Zoya was, ‘ Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara ’, and it garnered her Filmfare Awards nominations for the best actress in a supporting role. Let’s see how her character shapes up in this movie.

For the uninitiated, ‘ Gully Boy ’ is inspired by the lives of Mumbai’s underground rappers, Divine and Naezy, and Ranveer will be seen as a rapper, himself. Though Alia’s role and other cast members of the film have not disclosed yet, both the actors have started prepping up for the same. Ranveer, on his side, is regularly seen taking the rapping lessons from the actual Mumbai based rappers.

The movie is supposed to go on floors from February and will be released in the second half of 2018.
