The trailer of Tubelight was released on 24th May 2017 at 8:59 pm on all Star networks. During the launch event of the trailer, Salman spoke about many things including Late veteran actor Om Puri, the shooting of the film and the comparison between his movie Tubelight and Baahubali: The Conclusion.

The trailer launch was a succesful one and it received a thumps up from the viewers. At the event, Salman opened up about his affection for late actor Om Puri. He stated that every time he watches the trailer or the song and sees Om Puri in it, it makes him sad to realize that the man is no more around him. He said, “The strange thing is whenever I see the trailer or the song and I see Om ji in this, it just kills me! Because I have done a lot of work with Omji for years and years and one moment he was there and the second moment he was gone.” Salman also added, he does not enjoy watching the trailer of the film as it reminds him of late actor Om Puri.

When asked about the impact Tubelight will have after the huge success of Baahubali: The Conclusion, Salman quipped, “After Baahubali 1 we released Bajrangi Bhaijaan and now after Baahubali 2 we are coming with Tubelight so our CEO (Amar Butala) has a lot of pressure but it does not matter much to us.”

He said Baahubali 2 was a phenomenal success, though he hasn’t watched the film yet. He also added that every film has its own fate; Baahubali’s fate was this huge success so we will wait and see what fate has decided for Tubelight. Sohail also added saying it’s great that a film has garnered so much success and has set a yardstick to film making.

Baahubali 2: The Conclusion was released on 28th April 2017. Directed by S S Rajamouli, the Hindi version was presented by Dharma Productions and was a great success all over.

Tubelight is directed by Kabir Khan and will be released on 23rd June 2017. The film stars Salman Khan , Sohail Khan , Zhu Zhu and Om Puri among other actors.
