Aamir, who is currently busy shooting for the upcoming, ‘ Thugs Of Hindostan ’, was offered the biopic on astronaut Rakesh Sharma. The film is tentatively titled, ‘Salute’ and if the rumours are to be believed, the makers were eyeing on Priyanka Chopra to play Aamir’s on-screen wife. It is believed that, after reading the script, Aamir was keen to do the film. However, when the actor asked for certain changes in the script, the makers refused his demands, to which Aamir left the project. Now the exclusive news that’s making the headlines is, the makers of ‘Salute’ are now looking to cast Shah Rukh Khan in the place of Aamir. A report in DNA has revealed that the makers wanted a big name to play the lead, and Shah Rukh Khan fitted the bill.

Shah Rukh is busy with his TV show, ‘Ted Talks India’ and Anand L Rai ’s upcoming film. Though no confirmation is being given by SRK, the makers of ‘Salute’ now keenly want to cast him in the film. Shah Rukh has replaced Aamir in the past as well, in the early 90’s, Aamir Khan was first offered the negative role of Rahul in ‘ Darr ’ by Yash Chopra . But the actor was not happy with his experience of working with the late director in his previous movie, ‘ Parampara ’, so he passed it on and rest we know is history.

At the moment, Aamir is at the heights of his career, so we can’t say turning down the film is right decision or not. But it would be interesting to see Shah Rukh doing the role, as it’s been years that he has done any out and out biographical film.
