Bollywood actors and film personalities are going gaga over the recently released Marathi film Sairat, directed by Nagraj Manjule. Actor Irrfan Khan is one of them and is completely moved by the film’s storyline and making. According to a leading daily, Irrfan is organising a special screening of Sairat for his friends and family, today i.e. on May 23.
Irrfan confirmed the news saying that, “I believe that today’s teenagers, who are mainly exposed to western cinema, should watch this movie. Now is the time for new Indian cinema. I was moved to see the Marathi Romeo and Juliet in the film.”
Sairat is performing extremely well at the box-office and has crossed 65 crores in 3 weeks at the theatres. The film has received several awards, and has received a standing ovation at the 66th Berlin International Film Festival.
